Photograph required of John George (“Sunshine”) Smith of Spennymoor. He played for Spennymoor Wednesday Football Club early 20th century. Born 1890 died 1943. He also ran as “Boy Grey”, managed by Jack Egglestone. Wife had fish and chip shop in Bessemer Terrace and the King Street, Spennymoor. He was a popular and well-known local character. He also organised trips to Blackpool.
